Annan Thampi

In 2008 April, Mammootty’s Annan Thampi directed by Anwar Rasheed got released. This is the second movie of the Mammooty-Anwar Rasheed team, who has earlier delivered another hit, Rajamanickam. A heart touching story between two brothers, first time in his acting career mammootty acted as a dumb. This is a delightful blend of high and low humor pulled off splendidly with style.

The movie has made a gross collection of around two crores from its four day run in 75 theatres and movie which opened as a early as 3.40 am on the release day at Thaanoor, one of the Mammootty strong holds, has been shown six times daily in many centers at North Malabar. Even in the capital city (tvm) the movie made 33 shows in four days which yielded around 11 lakhs, the best ever for a Malayalam film in half a week.

When Annan Thampi completed 21 days, it has broken all box office records by collecting 9 crores reported by various sites. Film completed 50 days in 61 centers and its a huge record. The film is touted as the third biggest grosser in malayalam just behind the record of Rajamanikyam (2005).

Annan Thampi completed 100 days in thiruvananthapuram in spite of the release in near by theaters such as New, Nedumangad, Vetturod, Kaliyaikkavila, Attingal. Movie ran 101 days and collected nearly 63.8 Lakhs from Trivandrum. The movie collected nearly 26 crs in total run.

    The thunderous run of latest Mammootty film 'Annan Thampi' seems to have its share of repercussions from every part of India.

    As some Kollywood actors are on the go to acquire the Tamil rights of the movie, Telugu actor Balakrishna has already decided to remake the movie in Telugu with himself in the lead.

    The actor was floored by the movie's story and treatment of identical twins in war that he immediately decided to convert it into a treat for his Telugu fans.

    As for now, the superstar has not yet decided on the director of the movie, but finding the right director will not be a heavy task for him.

    And in Mollywood 'AnnanThampi' has already crossed the ten crore limit in its fifth week.

    Movir run 45 days in 61 centers and covered 55+ days run in 35 centers....

    Annan Thampi Cross 50 days...

    'Annan Thampi' - the Mammooty flick which made a thunderous start in 75 centers, marches to fifty days in 35 centers all across the state. The movie seems to be a much bigger affair in collection statistics than even ‘Rajamanikyam’ and ‘Classmates’ that were the blockbusters of 2005 and 2006.

    biggest hit of the year was undoubtedly AMMA's ''Twenty:20'' which is raking in collections in millions, breaking every box office records.The film released in 110 theatres featruing 72 big stars from the industry , got an extended run even to this Christmas season where no super star films was in the fray.

    Closely following the hit list in position two is Mammootty''s'' Annan thampi'' which had surprising initials in 2008.The movie opened the wide theatre release patterns in the state ,harvesting the best of collections .The movie turned a profit in its three weeks run and collected many folds of the capital . The movie that made the biggest run, in terms of days is Jayaram;s comeback movie ''Veruthe Oru bharya'' which is still in theatres even after 125 days.The movie is one of the biggest super hits of the year.

    35 Daysil 10 Crore is a big thing.. AT total run (A, B, C Class) poorthiyakkiyappol 26 Crore collect cheythenkil athu genuine report thanneyanu; as per 35 Days collection only in A Class theatres it suggests that. Releasing centresil ninnu matram 18 Crore above easily collect cheythittundavum AT. Pinne 8 Crore remaining B, Class centresil (400+) ninnu collect cheyyunnathinu budhimuttonnnum illa.

    Ur star's Rasathanthram collected only 12 Crore after its 100 Day run...I have the proof with me.
    That means Annan Thampi collected Rasathanthrams 100 Days gross collection within 40-45 Days.     AT (26 crs) collectd more than Mayavi..mayavi even collected more than 20 cores..may be 21 or 22...kannadachu iruttakkathey..odedi....

    Mammootty's mass masala Annan Thambi rules Kerala box-office. In two weeks the film has taken a record distributors share of Rs 3.12 crore from 75 screens in Kerala.
    The marketing of the film is the prime reason for the film’s huge success. By opening in B & C stations, it has boosted collections. For example the highest distributors’ share so far is from Nedumangad Rani which used to be around Rs 85, 000. For Annan Thambi which released simultaneously in Thiruvananthapuram and Attingal (the two nearest releasing stations), two weeks’ share from the same theatre is Rs 1, 79,436. In Thiruvananthapuram, it grossed Rs 15, 43,918 from two screens in the first week. The simultaneous release did not eat into each others’ collections.

    In the number two place is Mohanlal's Innathe Chintavishayam, which from 42 releasing stations has collected a distributors’ share of Rs 1.72 crore in 19 days. Clearly the Sathyan Anthikad film is lagging behind because it did not go for a big release. Now when the film is released in B & C centers later this month, the collections will not be even one third of a simultaneous release. For want of new releases in Malayalam Mulla is in the third place, Cycle at fourth and Katha Parayumbol in the fifth place
