P.G. Viswambharan’s Sphodanam released in1981 and it was one of the first movies of Mammootty. He has a supporting role in that and movie scripted by Sherif. Even though Hero was Sukumaran, Mammootty also played his role well. He changed his name to Sajin but again back to Mammootty. Cinema was his passion those days.
Later Mammootty become favorite of P.G. Viswambharan and he acted in more than 20 movies of this famous director. Movie crossed 65 days in major centers and people of kerala noticed the new star and later he becomes Super Star in the span of two years, 1983.
